Unsightly hair on the face, underarms, legs, and bikini area are the most popular treatment areas for women. The most popular areas for men include the back, chest, and underarms. Laser Hair Reduction results from the fast, painless, and effective Motus AY Alexandrite laser from Cartessa Aesthetics.

How Laser Hair Reduction Works

There are 3 phases of hair growth. It is only when hair is in its active growth phase that it can be affected by laser treatment. The light energy of the laser is converted to heat in the hair follicle. The heat damages the hair root. Because only about 20% of hairs are in their active growth phase at any given time, it takes a series of treatments to achieve the desired results. Most patients will need 6 to 10 treatments to see the desired results.  Touch-ups may be needed at some point in the future.

Safety is Our Priority

At Medical Day Spa of Chapel Hill, we adhere to the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Three laser-certified registered nurses perform hair removal treatment under the supervision of our medical director, Dr. Gary Berger.

These are not the standards found in all day spas offering hair removal treatments. Lasers are powerful medical devices that can cause harm if not used appropriately. We know our high standards are the right ones.
