One Year In — A Heartfelt Thank You

I wanted to take a moment to share a little reflection — and a very big thank you.

This August marks one year of ownership, and I can hardly believe how quickly it’s flown by. Your support over the past year has encouraged me daily and reminded me why this work is so special.

This spring, we were nominated in three categories for Best of Chapel Hill — and thanks to all of you, we won all three! I’ll be honest: I was nervous. Chapel Hill has become such a competitive, ever-evolving market, and stepping into leadership after what Julia and Dr. Berger built here came with big shoes to fill.

Being recognized alongside long-standing dermatology and cosmetic practices was humbling. And while awards can’t capture the heart of what makes this place special — the care, the experience, the team — it means the world to know that you took the time to vote for us.

A Look Back at Our First Year

It’s wild to look back at everything that’s happened in just one year:

• Hired a practice manager, another esthetician, and a medical assistant
• Introduced three new devices — the Sciton BBL HEROic, Alma TED for hair restoration, and the Alma IQ AI photo system
• Added PDGF (platelet-derived growth factors) and Plated exosomes as part of our regenerative treatment lineup
• Launched two new Jan Marini chemical peels
• Built a new website, unveiled a new logo, and refreshed our front space (including the stunning new mural by @artbyshalimar)
• Expanded our retail and gift offerings
• Attended multiple trainings and conferences to stay at the forefront of our field
• Maintained our Best of Chapel Hill streak — now 14 years strong!

All while supporting my husband as he opened two more clinics, growing our family (and another little one on the way!), and continuing to see more of you each day.

What I’m Most Grateful For

More than anything, I’m grateful for the people — both the team I get to work alongside and the patients who trust us with their care.

If you know me even a little, you can probably picture me writing this with tears in my eyes (and you’d be right). It’s such an honor to do what I love every day: leading this talented group of women, serving the best of the Triangle and Triad, working side by side with my husband as we grow our family, and deepening our roots here in Chapel Hill and Durham.

At Medical Day Spa, our vision is simple: to create the best place to be — for the people who work here, for those who receive care here, and for the partners and vendors who support us.

It’s about more than beautiful skin. It’s about building connection, confidence, and community — the kind that lasts long beyond the treatment room.

So, from the bottom of my heart: thank you for making this first year one I’ll never forget.
