FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GETTING STARTED

What treatment program is right for me?

Every individual’s skin is unique. Schedule a consultation and our team of experts will craft a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.

Are consultations free?

Medical clearance exams are required prior to any medical service or treatment. Appointments take approximately 15-minutes and there is no charge to the patient. Depending on the service, these appointments may be done in-person or virtually.

General consultations to discuss treatment plans are 45-minute appointments that may only be conducted in person. General consultations are $75, and Semaglutide consultations are $150.

How many treatments will I need?
While this is very patient specific, goal oriented, and time specific, most treatments require a minimum series for maximum result, with maintenance treatments corresponding. Our team will work with you to structure a treatment plan that aligns with your vision.

PAYMENT

Do you accept insurance?

While we don’t work with insurance networks directly, we encourage you to submit your treatment expenses to your provider for potential reimbursement.

Do you offer payment plans?
We don’t offer payment plans at this time.

INJECTABLES

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Both Botox and Dysport contain different formulations of the active ingredient botulinum toxin A. Dysport has an extra protein that is dissolved upon reconstitution. People who have a true cow’s milk allergy should not use Dysport. At our practice, we typically reconstitute the Botox and Dysport to have the same strength. Dysport does have a faster onset (2-5 days) than Botox (5-10 days), although both take full effect at 14 days. Both are approved to last for 3-4 months with appropriate dosage. Dysport has a 3:1 ratio to Botox, so 10 units of Botox equals 30 units of Dysport. Some people respond better to one product over the other.

What is the difference between Sculptra and Dermal Filler?
Dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the body, while Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, which stimulates your body’s own collagen growth. Fillers add volume immediately, filling in wrinkles and hollow areas. Sculptra stimulates collagen production gradually over time, resulting in a more natural-looking volume enhancement. Fillers are often used to add volume to specific areas like the cheeks, lips, chin, and under-eye hollows. Sculptra is more suitable for overall facial rejuvenation, addressing sunken cheeks, temple hollows, and deep facial folds. Fillers provide temporary results lasting from months to two years. Sculptra, with its collagen-stimulating effects, can last up to two years or more.

LASER TREATMENTS

How many laser hair reduction or laser tattoo treatments will I need?

For both laser hair reduction and laser tattoo removal, the number of treatments varies greatly between patients. The effect of laser hair reduction is influenced by treatment area, thickness/fullness of the hair, gender, ethnicity, or hormones. Tattoo removal is influenced by the age, color, or location of the tattoo, along with the type of ink used or individual’s skin. For a more accurate assessment, we recommend scheduling a Cosmetic Consultation with our lead laser nurse.

How long will it take me to recover from CO2 laser skin resurfacing?

A Cool Peel (which is a mini-CO2 treatment) will cause redness and mild swelling for 1-2 days. The estimated down time for more aggressive procedures is 4-7 days. As the skin continues to heal, patients may experience more pinkness than usual in the weeks following treatment.

Are Results from CO2 laser skin resurfacing permanent?

Improvements from laser skin resurfacing can be seen for many years. Longevity of results largely depends on past sun damage and initial skin health. Diligent use of SPF and prescription grade skin care can prolong results. Most patients receive this treatment every 1 to 2 years to maintain results.

SKIN REJUVENATION

Which microneedling treatment is right for me?

Skin Pen Microneedling is better for addressing tone and texture, while Virtue Radio-Frequency Microneedling is recommended for scarring, skin elasticity, and collagen production. For a more accurate individualized answer, schedule a Cosmetic Consultation with one of our providers.

How long do results from Virtue Microneedling last?
With proper sun protection and an established skin care regimen, results can last for years. We recommend getting started with an initial series of treatments every 4 to 6 weeks, followed by regular maintenance treatments to prolong your results.
What is my downtime for a facial?
Standard facials are zero downtime. For more aggressive treatments like peels and microneedling, expect recovery to last between 3 and 10 days.
